The interiors, crafted by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, who also took care of the exterior, have been a well-kept secret until now. With a classic bow, ASIA’S elegant sculptural lines beautifully hide her impressive 1,268 GT of interior volume.
Once called Project ASIA, the 61-meter vessel was successfully launched from the Dutch shipyard’s facilities in Monnickendam at the beginning of last year, commissioned by a seasoned family eager to explore the world extensively. In 2019, she found a new home through Moran Yacht & Ship, with construction kicking off shortly after. This marked the eighth new-build Hakvoort project that Moran Yacht & Ship has successfully sold and managed. She is the third custom 61-meter built by Royal Hakvoort, designed by Sinot, with naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design.
Reflecting the owners’ vibrant and engaging lifestyles, Sinot has designed “playfully creative” interiors, where each area is thoughtfully crafted for hosting large gatherings of friends while also providing cozy moments with family. Lead designer Paul Costerus shared that the studio was tasked with capturing the roomy interior vibe of an 80-meter yacht within a 61-meter design.
“Asia is the boat I have dreamt of since I was a young boy,” said the owner. “Everywhere onboard, Asia is incredibly comfortable and enjoyable to spend time in. There isn’t any part of the boat where we don’t feel at home; in fact, what Royal Hakvoort built is a home for us. ASIA is the complete package—she turned out precisely as we envisioned.”
There are six cozy cabins available for 12 guests, featuring a lovely owner’s apartment on a private deck. This special space includes a beauty salon, two bathrooms, an office, a sky lounge, and stunning panoramic views from a king-sized bed. You’ll find a spacious al fresco dining area at the back, perfect for up to 12 guests, and the foredeck offers a cozy spot with a Jacuzzi and a little seating area.
The rest of the guest accommodation includes a lovely forward VIP suite, which is about the same size as the owner’s apartment, located on the main deck. It features a private saloon, a rainfall shower, and a bathtub, all conveniently close to the spacious saloon, a formal dining area for 12, a bar, and some extra comfy lounge seating.
There are four extra en suite double cabins featuring king-sized beds located on the lower deck, providing direct access to the beach club. Additionally, the crew quarters include eight en suite cabins accommodating up to 18 crew members. The deck is super easy to get to through a spacious atrium that features a lovely central stairwell with a beautiful cascading glass element, plus there’s a separate elevator too!
In addition to accommodation, her lower deck features a space designed for guests, focusing on health and rejuvenation. A spacious beach club features a spa, sauna, massage parlour, lounge, and juice station, all adorned in soothing neutral tones and natural materials to create a relaxing oasis. The beach club can be opened on three sides (port, starboard, and aft), and in the evening, it can be transformed into a fun karaoke party space with underwater lights.
A glass-walled Jacuzzi with a swim-up bar, sun pads, retractable biminis, and a grill station creates the perfect outdoor space on the sundeck. Meanwhile, the bridge deck features a fully equipped gym and an extra outdoor social area, all separated by glass sliding doors. The wheelhouse is located at the front of the bridge deck.
Royal Hakvoort claims ASIA is one of the most efficient Hakvoorts so far, featuring a hybrid propulsion system with shaft generators and a battery for peak shaving. She can travel 4,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots and can even go faster than 15 knots. She is also equipped with the Dutch yard’s innovative heat recovery system, now a standard feature on all future Hakvoort yachts, to enhance her forward-thinking design.
Moran Yacht & Ship, the driving force behind the project, not only penned the technical specification, negotiated the cost of the interior, and orchestrated the Audio/Video, IT, and security systems but also handpicked and negotiated the tenders and watercraft toys, overseeing the entire construction of this magnificent vessel. After her delivery in May 2024, the yacht set off on a delightful four-month Mediterranean tour, enjoying a non-stop adventure with her new owners.
